LiteSpeed server
Hi!
Could someone tell me what is the LiteSpeed server? This is what proposed by simplehelix.com, and maybe (?) some other companies (also wopuld like to know which ones). Simplehelix says that Quote:

If I am not mistaken Litespeed is also used by medialayer. However, the cons is that it is not really compatible with cPanel (if it does it is probrably a hack version). Normally Litespeed providers offers Direct Admin instead.

According to what is stated on the website simplehelix.com, this software works nine times faster than apache...
Is cPanel the only reason of its low popularity? |

Actually according to Litespeed's official website it is only six times faster. They should get their facts right.

I guess this software is a part of simplehelix.com specialization - eCommerce. This enables people make online payment and other eCommerce work faster and thus this Litespeed is good for eCommerce hosting...
However this is only a guess, so quite possible there is some other reason for this. |

I think there is some confusion in this thread as there is LiteSpeed and lighthttpd:

From what I see lighttpd only powers meebo. YouTube and Wikipedia are currently running Apache.
