peachy dandy?
this is my first post here..
http://www.peachydandy.com
Looks like this is a new-ish host provider. Can anyone (*not* the owner ) comment on their experience with this host? Prices look pretty competitive.
thanks!

I do not have any experience from them. But since last month I am using 24HostingNow for reselling and I really enjoyed their service for this month. Thus would really recommend them as reliable and good host. Cheers

We aren't newish. We were operating under a different name before expansion and we became Peachy Dandy. We've been providing hosting services for almost 4 years.
You can find reviews about us on Google, here is some I found:

I use Peachy Dandy - Web Hosting, Software and more! for hosting my site and my client's sites. Unlimited domains and sub-domains, unlimited MySQL, Linux, .htaccess with Mod_Rewrite, plenty of space and BW, and their customer support is top notch.

Just thought I'd provide an update on my experience with Peachy Dandy. I was attracted by the price, and dropped $10 on the service to give it a shot.
Here is what I found:
- the company seems to be operated by a single individual... billing/technical support were taken care of by the same person. Not a problem in itself, however..
- technical support requests often took several hours for a reply. Simple problems like providing SSH access were not responded to in a timely fashion.
- technical support responded in a terse, irritated, fashion to requests. The person made the simplest technical request sound like I was asking personal favours of them!
- if you're familiar with "cPanel" ... the service it provides is restrictive, and provided nowhere near the flexibility I had with DreamHost in terms of setting up accounts, domains, etc. This may not matter for all users, but it mattered for me.
Due to a mixture of a lack of adequate technical support, and fundamental restrictions that cPanel created, I decided to cancel the service after 2 weeks and requested a refund based on their "45-day money-back guarantee, no questions asked".
The response from the same person (Brandon Himpfen) was "Request denied". I sent two e-mails requesting an explanation, and received no response. I was completely confused by the situation, so I sent a dispute request to Paypal. Within minutes I got an extremely rude response from Brandon Himpfen claiming that I violated Peachy Dandy's Terms of Service and therefore did not qualify for a refund. Of course, there was no violation of the ToS because I chose to close the account myself. Long story short, the owner/operator of Peachy Dandy was shockingly aggressive and rude, and the dispute was closed on a technicality (Paypal can't refund a transaction for 'virtual goods' such as hosting services).
In the end, I paid $10 for 2 weeks of service. To me, it's nothing short of fraudulent behaviour, and I'll be glad to never deal with Peachy Dandy again. I went back to DreamHost, and although the fees are a bit steep, I'm more than impressed with their professional, caring, technical staff.
Perhaps in the future Peachy Dandy will hire professional and trained staff to deal with technical issues - but until then, this is by far, the worst experience I've ever had with a web host. I'm sure that others have had a reasonable experience with PD, but mine was terrible.

Peachy Dandy is not operated by a single person. We do assign staff to different users, in order to have a personal-customer relationship.
You only requested 2-3 tickets. Each taking a less than 1 hour. We usually reply less than 1 hour, however, sometimes we do get backed up.
Requesting SSH is a security issue and this is why it took longer than normal, as a different authorized staff member has to be involved. We replied asking for your local IP, which you refused to give us. Then we received a request for cancelation.
We use cPanel, as thousands of other providers use and other website owners use. It is not restrictive and it is easy to create domains, email, etc... If you were having problems then you should have emailed us and we would have helped you.
We are NOT DreamHost and we do not provide mass overselling. We provide quality hosting and have so for over four years. Instead of being impatient and nasty with any staff, you would have seen this.
When submitting a cancelation and you state that you would like a refund. You should allow time for a auhorized staff member to address and issue the refund. Refund process is not automatic and fast process. You went ahead and requested a PayPal dispute.
No one gave any rude response. This is a pure lie and what was stated was why we rejected your claim. Your claim for refund was refused for being rude and abusive to staff and spamming our system. PayPal denying your request is PayPal's opinion, not ours.
You are to hot headed and impatient and therefore didn't lead to any results. If you wish to settle this then please email billing or open a billing ticket.
We weren't fraudulent and such accusation is illegal. As far as our staff goes, we have more than one person who addresses billing, sales and support. Names are not given by email, only by client software, in which a staff member is assigned

I think the tone of your reply is evidence enough of Peachy Dandy's commitment to customer satisfaction. In the future, I suggest handling disputes like this in a far calmer, less aggressive, manner. As for the $10? Keep it. I've already exhausted many hours dealing with you/your business; you had the chance to settle this amicably over a month ago.

Sorry, but I am not trying to answer in the manner you state. I am trying to provide our side of the story.
We provide excellent customer satisfaction, especially for the price you pay.

Yeap and he represent the company and he is right. Because the company can't offer what they won't be able to provide

No it does not represent the company, as you don't have all the facts and our side. Your automatically believing the OP unillaterly.
When the request was asked, we did state it was denied, however within 10 mins, we error edited it and stated the refund is pending. 48 hours later we received PayPal dispute. It takes up to 5 business days to process a refun, not less then 3 days.
We do honour money back, however we didn't get a chance to process. We have stated at WHT we will process and discuss this matter more if the OP opens a ticket or email. Which the OP has not done as of yet.
