Changing my main domain name

When you hire some webhost the first thing you do is to enter your main domain name, and from there you add your other domains

But what if now I want to sell my main domain name and use one of the addon domains as a principal domain for the webhost?

Is this possible? Will my host put me any trouble?

But my main fear is that all my domains are hosted in the same host and they have the form:

addonanyname.maindomain.com

addonanyname2.maindomain.com

And so on... If I sell maindomain.com it looks like I will lose all the others too. (notice this is not subdomains but addon domains)

Hmm... if that is the case, I would suggest you to contact your host to change your main domain to whatever domain that you want.
Maybe they can offer a solution for you?

I think so if the company is reputable.

It does not matter if they are seperate domains physically, but if you've subdomains like that and you sell your main domain, the new owner will have control over the DNS, and if they change the nameservers then there is no gaurantee than your subdomains will still work. You may have them setup into different physical folders and different website instances on your webserver, but they are still subdomains in regards to the DNS.
