I would recommend using the VTC $30/mo university to get video training that will go over all of this information, plus it will cover many other subjects. In this case you would want to look at the Windows Server 2003 (70-293) exam prep course which includes the information about Basic and Dynamic Disk and Fault Tolerance. That will answer your questions, plus with a membership here you can go right to those two videos regarding that subject and only have to spend 10:02 minutes total learning about it instead of hours of reading to find it.
