    Does your CPanel use SSH?

I have just started using a new webhost on a Linux shared hosting deal and I've just noticed that when I log into CPanel, neither the login or the session is ran over an SSH connection.

Is this normal? I was rather surprised by it.

Yes, all the access should go through SSH.

    Hello. Welcome.
Better create new thread for that

May I ask you how you noticed that?

The cpanel uses SSH for access, some hosts disable it though.

I think you should enable it from inside if you want your session be ran thru SSH.
This definitely isn't normal but as SariJ says, there may be some hosts who disable it by default.

The cpanel uses SSH to protect the websites for the purpose of the security.

It is not recommended to give SSH to all clientes, it is better to give access by request. Therefore, you can track clients activities on server.

Do you want to access cpanel over SSL or you are trying to connect to the server via SSH ?
