meta data help
Hello all. I dont know if I can post here or if I'm posting this question in the correct place. But, I have a problem with my website. I'm trying to do the site on my own by reading books and online posts. I built my first one using a template from my host just to get my feet wet. Then I got dreamweaver software and started really trying to get the site I wanted. I set up meta tags on my first site through my host. They had a button you clicked and it showed you how to set meta stuff up. I changed all my meta tags on my new site before I ftp it and get it online. I deleted everything from my host so nothing would interferre with the new site. So when I ftp it to my host I still get the old meta tags and description. I didnt put them there. the host is somehow automatically inserting them. My new meta info is there but the old ones are above it and thats what the web crawlers are looking at, not my new ones. So, I call my host and they have no idea whats going on and cant fix it. Tell me I'm on my own. Startlogic is my host now, but not for long. Could someone please help me. Tell me what to do. www.morganconstructionandremodeling.com is my site. Check the source out and see if you notice anything. Any help is appreciated.

Metadata is used to facilitate the understanding, characteristics, and management usage of data. The metadata required for effective data management varies with the type of data and context of use. In a library, where the data is the content of the titles stocked, metadata about a title would typically include a description of the content, the author, the publication date and the physical location.

What is Metadata?
Metadata is structured data which describes the characteristics of a resource. It shares many similar characteristics to the cataloguing that takes place in libraries, museums and archives. The term "meta" derives from the Greek word denoting a nature of a higher order or more fundamental kind. A metadata record consists of a number of pre-defined elements representing specific attributes of a resource, and each element can have one or more values. Below is an example of a simple metadata record:
Metadata (meta data, or sometimes metainformation) is "data about other data", of any sort in any media. An item of metadata may describe an individual datum, or content item, or a collection of data including multiple content items and hierarchical levels, for example a database schema. In data processing, metadata is definitional data that provides information about or documentation of other data managed within an application or environment. The term should be used with caution as all data is about something, and is therefore metadata.
For example, metadata would document data about data elements or attributes, (name, size, data type, etc) and data about records or data structures (length, fields, columns, etc) and data about data (where it is located, how it is associated, ownership, etc.). Metadata may include descriptive information about the context, quality and condition, or characteristics of the data. It may be recorded with high or low granularity.
