cPanel?
Hi there,
I am to cPanel. However, I am adequately abreast about linux.
When I add or adapt an user (called "Account" in cPanel ) application cPanel, it consistently seems to accredit "/bin/bash" as the shell.
I can go in and adapt the /etc/passwd book manually and change the carapace to /bin/tcsh .
This works, . . . until the next time I use cPanel to adapt this user. cPanel seems to overwrite the shell.
My ambition is to abstain application the command band and do aggregate by application cPanel as abundant as possible.
So, how does one change the carapace application cPanel?
Thanks in advance.

Its probably hard coded in cPanel. cPanel offers bash shell and Jailshell. Jailshell is a restricted shell and bash shell allows normal bash shell access. If you want to use /bin/tcsh then you can specify the default shell in /etc/profile for server wide settings to get the shell changed when soneone logins.

I think that even if you change the shell in the user's bash profile stored in their user directory that it will get overwritten. You may consider submitting a ticket to cPanel's support to see if they can modify the scripts on your server.
