web hosting on linux

Hi,

I have a requirement of a program that must run on a linux server, which should create links dynamically to all the files within some folders it contains.I would just like to have a html page which would provide links to the folder names on the server and when each of them is clicked one program should execute which in turn should open a new browser window containing links to all the files in that particular folder on the server.Can anyone suggest what technology to use which would be supported on linux?

I'm a little confused by what you're asking. From what I can tell, what you're asking for can be done using a simple PHP or Perl script, without the need of a special program. Could you provide us with more details on what you want this script to do?
