Avatars?

why are there no avatars on this forum? And don't tell me because it's too big a forum to put avvies because I go on forums bigger then this one and they have avatars(80x80)

Well I dont think avatars are necessary in our forum at the moment

if someone could explain the benefits of having an avatar on the forum then I would consider turning them on, but make the sure you have me convinced in order for me to do so. Because right now I dont see there benefit to the site and its users.
