Hi all-
How many IPs do you, as a reseller, actually use/need...Not "can" use, nor "wish you had". This is not an IP-based vs. name-based question. I am looking for good, straight-forward answers.

In all honesty, you can run a server with hundreds of clients all off of one IP address. The only reason you would need to is if you wanted to fake having two name servers. I like to provide all of my resellers their own ip address so users can go to their ip instead of mine. In other words, if someone types in their ip in the url space their web page will load up. I like to pass things on and help out my resellers as much as possible. But you only really need 1 IP per server.

IP addresses are going to be finished off very soon..We shouldn't be wasting them
therefore, use 1 IP only!!

I use 2 & assign 2 for each reseller for personalized nameservers

Really and truthfully you can use only 2 IP's for hundreds of personal name servers instead of giving out 2 for every set. I do it on my server and it works perfectly fine. If you would like some instructions on how to set these up I can post them.

Our resellers get one dedicated IP and their nameservers are aliased to our mains. This saves IPs and lets them still present as a true webhost.
