Own Control Panel?
Has anyone ever bothered to write their own control panel to control their web hosting, or does every one here just go with the normal alternatives, ie WHM cPanel Plesk etc?

Actually, I haven't written by own CP, but I am seriously thinking of doing so. I may add I don't host but I intend to start one in the future.http://www.datacentertalk.com

I am planning on writing my own control panel, but I am still writing content and scripts for my hosting server so I don't host yet either, except for one site that I host for free for a local not for profit organisation, which I set up manually.
Hope to hear from more people.

We use Plesk as a backend but wrote the whole billing/customer management system (that automates everything).Regards,

Our's was actually developed in conjunction with another company. I think that today, if you have the funds and other resources (i.e. human) necessary to create your own interfaces, this is the best way to go.
