Thread: nameserver trouble
01-20-2006, 10:10 PM #1mukilanGuest
I would like to use my own name server my reseller told that i need to register my nameserver using their ip.This is what the website says
If you are using your own nameservers you would need to "register" them first with our IPs: for NS1 use: 126.96.36.199 and for ns2 use: 188.8.131.52. then you need to wait for it to propagate (normally 4 hours) and only then you will enter your NS in the registrar of all your domains.

Well you need to tell them to create it on the server like ns1.servernamehere.com and ns2.servernamehere.com , then you will go to your domain registrar and list them in their using ns1 the first IP they told you and ns2 on second IP they told you .
Am not sure if they are providing it free as ns1.yourwebsite.com but You will have to ask them about whether or not they can give you your own name servers using the name of your website while using their IPs.█ For Reliable and Affordable Web Hosting Packages, Please visit kooshin.com

Log into you godaddy account.
Go to My Domain names.
Check the domain you want to work with.
While checked, click set locking (located up top)
Unlock the domain.
Once domain is unlocked, double click the domain so details show up on the right side.
Go to "domain hosting summery" at the bottom and click "Click here to see details or to modify."
Fill in the rest:
Where it says host: fill it in as needed. In most cases its NS1.YourDomain
IP Address: (Type in the IP address your hosting provider gave you for Name servers.)
Thats the first name server now do the next NS2.Yourdomain > 123.456.789.111
Save changes and then make sure domain is locked up again. Wait awhile and it should work.
Hope you understand... good luck.
