Question about building a web site
I'm thinking about building a web site with a web cam. I have an extra pc that I can use to host the site, or is it better to have a web hosting site do it?

I would say host the actual site on at a web host, and have the extra PC host the video stream. You will need to make sure you have some a bit of extra bandwidth to handle multiple people accessing the web site. I would say a 1meg uplink should handle about 10/15 visitors depending on the stream if you having live web cam. If just having just a single image from a site on your website then you need some program to occssionally update the image and put onto your website, but you will only need ordinary broadband uplink.http://www.datacentertalk.com

Actually, its depends from computer specs and internet speed, if there's no problem, then better host on your own comp

I would say that it depends on how many people you expect to be accessing the site at one time. If only a few people, you would probably be fine to host it on a spare computer. But if you expect more than a few people, then even a broadband connection might start to choke if you're trying to stream video to too many people.
