Thread: Streaming Video

As I peruse all these hosting packages and note all the features being offered, I rarely see streaming video being mentioned. Am I missing a special code word or something that denotes they offer this particular feature?

I supposed video streaming would have eat up the servers' resources as well.

I guess you would have to ask email individual company. Some might not worry about streaming content, while others might not allow any streaming content at all B)
Maybe they're just hiding the fact that they won't allow streaming content, hoping clients won't realise this and sign up

Streaming video eats up a lot of bandwidth so some companies don't offer it. It's hard to offer all f that unlimited stuff and then give a customer a way to use it up.

If you want to stream videos, get you a server. It eats up the server load too fast, and will make the server crash if you have 100 domains and people are streaming content!

As stated before, steaming is somewhat risky to do for a host. This is because streaming causes the server to overload from time to time and just freeze.
So many hosts avoid this option.

I thought about hosting real audio myself, but it's too costly. First you have to pay like $5,000 for the real audio server (although there is a free one that will server up a small number of connections for free). Instead, if I get any requests for real audio/video, I'll simply outsource it to another company.
I work with many bands, and they all opt out to listing with MP3.com for their music distrobution.

I think that the hosting company doesnt include streaming videos because it eats up a lot of bandwidth actually video eats up roughly 10 times more bandwidth. And it was really expensive since it needs dedicated server
