What do you feel is/are the likely future infrustructure(s) for the hosting industry?
Still the single or dual x86 based CPU rack mount server that's so prominant now?
A blade server? A mainframe running unix partitioned into thousands of virtual servers? What?

Depends on what market your talking about. If your talking the average hosting company that is using dedicated server or builing a colocated server then I would say staying with the x86's
If your talking about the major bigtime sites, you are going to find the higher end servers like the bladservers and etc. The average site will continue to be run on x86 machines though. Not unless the high dollar servers start to drop In price. Personally... I like the Sun servers. I have 4 currently (older workstation, blade 100, and 2 sunfire v100's) They all work great for what I'm using them for. The sunfire's are more affordable, but pack more power than the average PC.Brian Pauley
