Actually, I might of heard of them but I forget if it was a good comment or a negative one.
Here is what I do know however,
Their servers are located at NAC.
It seems they might be a reseller of Dedicated Now.
I checked the whois on them. It seems they registered not to long ago, although sometimes new hosts can actually be better then some big ones.
I cannot tell you how their service and reliability is though. Send a few e-mails to them and see how their response times are. If you believe they are not for you, make a request at the appropriate catagory on our forum. =).

By the way, is being a reseller for Dedicated Now a good thing or a bad thing? I'm not familiar with them.

It all depends. I have to say that dedicatednow's network should be superb, from what they say on their site. And hostgator being a new reseller and webhosting provider, i believe they can give you superb support, at least at the current moment. IN the future, i do not know. Worth a try though.

Reseller's shouldn't be to much of a problem, although I would recommend you find someone who own's their own server or leases a dedicated server.
I say this because reseller's still have rules to follow as well and if the server goes down, they cannot do anything but complain to where they are reselling for.
Also, some resellers are better then real companies. =P.
Because they give very good support if they are dedicated.
Its your call.

I was once a reseller and I do face my own difficulties. That explains why i got my own server. It all depends on the provider. My old provider was prompt at answering questions and forever accusing me of not paying him and he suspended all my accounts.
I couldn't answer why the sites were all down when many clients came asking me. In the end, i gave them the full refund (since i thought it was my fault), and restarted business, this time with my own server.
Basically, I could provide better support and also easier sales management since as a reseller, i do not need to bother server handling stuffs BUT my roles are limited and I could hardly answer to my clients.
Its up to you to decide, with me posting about an experience about myself being once a reseller.

Since EIG bought out HostGator for 225 million dollars last year the original owner has nothing to do with the company and their reputation has suffered numerous complaints about service. Not sure if EIG can get that under control so you may wish to do a little more research before trying them out.█ WebzPro.com Hosting Solutions Since 2004

hostgator "was" a good provider. after they were sold to EIG their support, network, service everything gone beyond hell. i never recommend any EIG host. If you are still willing to go with any EIG owned host then the risk is yours. they don't give a damn for their customers. you can search in google for all EIG owned hosts.
