72 px isn't one inch
I have a dell laptop, and when ever I create graphics they are always bigger on other computers. So I decided to create a box that had lengths of 72 pixels and measure it with a ruler over the screen. The results are that what should be one inch is in fact .75 inches.
I went to the control panel > display and tried out the different options, but none seemed to make that 72 box line be one inch. Save for one setting, which made the length of th box one inch, but not the height.
I have a 15.4 inch screen and my resolution is set at 1280 X 780.
The thing is, I went into advanced, and under dpi it is set to 96 dpi.
So I clicked on custom setting, and up came an image of a ruler with markings on it, and one inch on that was indeed one inch.
I am so confused.
So what part is at fault here?
