Usually you get what you pay for. In some cases this doesn't apply. Basically you have to look around and see what kind of reputation it has and how reliable they are. You can either ask around the forum, or you can send an e-mail to their sales or support and see how much information they can give you and how fast. Speed-wise almost all servers have a certain speed range so it usually isn't the problem its more like people have problems with customer support, and lose interest in the host.
$99/mo. is the usual price for a dedicated server with an setup fee of maybe $50-$150. Although I have seen higher $99 is the mid-range.

I am not saying united colo is good.
They used to be good with quality bandwidth but since last year their quality have been totally bugged.

RackShack is rather slow in terms of sales. Their sales kinda sucks. I ordered a server from their site and after it was confirmed, they told me server wasnt available. So a change of server was done but I wasnt happy at such an arrangement, hence ordered a refund.
They imposed a US$100 compensation charge at the expense of ME and till now (abt 1wk+ already), they still have not refunded me. Their after-sales service isn't any better.

As for United Colo, i haven't heard much of their goodness recently. Most were either complaints or plain comments. So, not suggesting you guys to go with United Colo.

Regarding Nocster, i think they should be rather good, except that they are quite expensive. But they offer Cpanel Internal License quite cheaply. So, for me, i would go with Nocster when comparing these 3.
