Is 1000-1200 dollars a month a good amount to pay a customer service (support/sales) rep for 9-5, 7 days a week to handle phone, live chat, and email?

$1,200 is less then minimum wage if you worked 9 Hours a day, 7 days a week.
According to minimum wage, it should be at least $1,400 a month.

I am in California. For the hours you mentioned I would have to pay $432.08/week with the overtime. Multiply that by 4.2 weeks in a month and you come up with $1814.74. So for me your number is a little low. I also pay medical and dental for my employees as well as a full benifits package. $1,000 to $1,200 a month is a little low IMHO. But if you can pull it of more power to you.
