Whether you are building mobile application for your own business or in general use to sell in mobile market, mobile application design require to be develop with special care by keep in mind the objective of mobile audience. Some of the points I light to highlight for development of it.
It must make difference clearly with general application design: Many beginner try to think application for general use and missed to highlight the key difference in working of the application. The application must sounds with clear definition to be used for mobile only.
Flat layout Will be good option : As mobileusers have flat screen to view your website or access internet and application, try to adopt the flat architecture which add all the option and elements in one flat direction horizontally or vertically.
Storage memory require for Application : Except the high costly Phones with 8 GB or 16 GB memory storage, most of the mobile would have an average of 4 Gb data storage which might have occupied for entertainment.
Run time memory require for application : It is important to know how much memory any mobile processor require to execute the application.Over used of processor frequency can get you poor feedback.
Performance of Mobile after installation: I have observed in many application, after installation the mobile get hanged or perform other task very slow. Due to this users may uninstall the application and may search for the alternate option. You must taste the overall performance of the application on different device you have built for and try to optimize it.
Bandwidth and internet usage : It is the last and important point. Mobile users have limited bandwidth and internet, You must have option to minimize the usage of an internet every time user starts or runs the application if it require to use internet.
Above are basic points that I think it is important to consider. Add yours if I forgot to write about.
