I would agree with denis on this on. I wouldn't see why a dedicated IP would have any advantages as far as an SEO goes. I think that alot of the stats about that are very skewed because most of the higher ranked sites have their own IP as they have their own server.

This is what one person told me:
Yes it is true that links between sites on the same Class C Subnet are discounted. It is even possible that links between consecutive Class C Subnets are discounted.
The identification and exclusion by the topic sensitive page rank (TSPR) calculations of pages seen as affiliated is Google's way of regaining control over external page factors that can be manipulated. Sites with the same Class C Subnets are considered affiliated but 'affiliations' could be extended to cover any linkage pattern Google may see as suspicious. See Google Patent 6,754,873 http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-P...S=PN/6,754,873 and this paper for an introduction to TSPR http://dbpubs.stanford.edu:8090/pub/...df&compression=
As well as:
Search engines handle virtually hosted domains and their links just the same as domains on unique IP addresses.
Not that I understand / get into SEO at all, but I do find it fascinating at the different answers one can get
