ok i'm still in begining of things but on average how many sites can you host on the following setup...
P4-2 GHZ 1.2 GB ram
freebsd for the OS

well it all depends on how big each website is, also how much system resources it uses up.
I wouldn't recommend having to many intensive sites on 1 server, due to the fact that it may bring the server down.

really cant tell from that
we need to know how big the sites are
what is running, i.e, static html sites use hardelly any resources, large communites using server side scripting uses allot more resources
best of add sites, and keeping an eye on resources as you go
if they start to go up, then dont add anymore
provide a good service to ur customers, and it will reward you well in the future....

How many sites can u host depends on:
1) HDD Space (obviously)
2) Ram (whether it can take it or not)

hmmm is a p4-2ghz, with 1.2 gig of ram, with scsi
i would think that it would have faster ram that sdram, probably ddr
let us know on that.
fsb of p4's are pretty fast
so fast ram with a p4 runs pretty quick
sdram would spoil that
