For those of you that have partnerships
I was approached today by a friend that wants to go 50/50 in the hosting business. Now I closed my business to some personal stuff and career move. Anyway heres the questions
1. How is your experiance with partnerships
2. How has it helped you or not helped you
3. Are you satisfied with your partner?

1. Well Great really, My partner is a great person a great friend. He helps a lot and he share the work equally.
2. Well he does the design work and I do everything else. He is also in a different time zone so that helps with support, and we talk each day for about an hour or two to see what needs doing etc. It also helps if one of us needs to go on holiday as the other can always cover
3. Yes no question about it

If you decide to do a partnership - make sure you cover yourself legal-wise. Do not use the business form of a "Partnership" - you will become responsible for debt that your partner creates. Use an LLC or Corporation. Make a contract and have it worked out by a lawyer.
If done right - partnerships can be benefitial. They also can turn into hell if partners start disagreeing on important decisions and therefore putting the business at risk.

Hi,
When you choose partnership, you have to concentrate on many factors. Also dont jsut take from any forum anything.
Just my 2 cents.

Don't do anything without clear and signed contract.
In the real business there are no friends.Last edited by denis; 07-01-2004 at 06:28 PM.
