Well the way I attract customers is to be kind and give our current clients the best support I can get them. Make sure our server and other systems are always online and then word of mouth does its own piece of work

People say word of mouth is great...(It's true) but you have to have clients who spread the word.
It's quite difficult to attract the first few clients. It's nice to have friends who have website sites and friends who need wbesites.

Well, There we go.
My first client if I remember right was someone I worked for and did programming for. They singed up one account straight away, after anouther week they set anouther two domains up. So he had 3 accounts. I thought that was very kind of him. My company hadn't really started then as I did not have my Merchant account setup, I only had paypal which I dont like.
So basically as I was not started up I helped him with everything. Programming (He was paying me for that anyway) and I also helped him learn the way around the hosting software, taught him to use the mail clients how to set things up. I even phoned him a few times (internation calls gave me a massive phone bill) just to make sure things were going alright and that he didnt need any help with anything.
After about a month I finally got everything ready to start the business, after this time his site was all ready and coded and everything was running smoothly. He was very happy with the services and it just came over a conversation that my site was finally ready for launch.
This guy was really great and it is really thanks to him that I got of to a very quick start in the business. Within 2 weeks he had referred 19 people to me, 11 of which signed up for accounts.
Now, when being in the business for quite some time that doesnt seem to much really. That filled up most of my reseller account (2GB space and 50GB bandwidth). I was in extacy, I was so happy i couldnt believe it.
Right now he is a great friend of mine and we regullarly have a chat. I went over in January last year with business (non-hosting) and we met up and had a drink. He is a great guy and it is really thanks to him that my company got off to a good start.
That is how word of mouth worked out for me. A very good experience and very rare as well. But basically the morale of the storyis to treat your customers well and they will treat you well in return
