What do you guys thinking about doing local advertisment, such as news paper, provide good hosting deal for institute, cinema and radio.
Do you think worth to spend money on it?

yeah i think its a good idea to advertise locally beacsue at least you have a less of a chance of that beeing an un tapped market, instead of trying to advertise on the web where everyone is advertising.

Local advertisment is good, but you won't get much customers as in online advertising.
My 2 cents.

michal, I disagree, internet advertising isn't that great from alot of perspectives(and stats). Most ISPs have ad blocking software in place, this isn't to mention most people just look away from the advertisments. It might work for branding purposes but local clients tend to be more long lasting and more realiable in paying.

It has been proven that internet advertising just does not work! Almost anyone who uses the internet, even only once a week, quickly learns that most banners are placed at the top right and learn to avoid that space. If you do decide to place a banner on a page, place it in the content where it is most likely to be seen and almost cannot be missed by anyone reading the text. People learn quickly, try to move the banner every two weeks or whenever the banner clicks start to decrease.
(I read that in .Net mag )
And yes, I think that advertising in your local paper and the the radio would be a good idea. I'm not too sure about the cinema idea though, I just dont think it would work.
That's just my 2 pennies (I'm brittish )."Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the Universe is winning."
