Depends on your advertising really. Also, if you move to fast you will suffer from growing pains.Kris

Ok lets say if a small hosting company is doing well and gets an average of 15 signups a week.
It would take that host 67 weeks to reach the limit of 1000 customers.
1000 customers is quite a milestone for a host, and if you do reach that limit then in theory you should be turning over a nice profit.

Obviously it depends on advertising although my growth of customers is basically, well, nothing. How does a company get 15 sign ups per week without pouring $1000's into advertising. Or don't they?

Sure, but i think rep has a lot to do with it. If you satisfy a customer very well, he will tell 20 of his friends.

Depends on advertising doesn't it?
Get the top spot at google adwords and your be there in a year, be at number 10 and other small advertising take upto 5 years maybe. Maybe longer!

getting 1000 will be hard as the market is so crowded with companyies offering $5 doller plans, but with the right adverts in the right places you will get there.

with the market full of newbie hosts whom are trying to get a piece of the pie, it takes a bit longer then youd expect. Thus the reason why you are seeing extremely low prices right now. During exam time, things change big time because all the hosts that are 15-16 no longer have time to spend on their hosting company, as they are busy studying....thus why we noticed more companies "disappear" during exams.
