Thread: Turoff Logging

I'm looking for a way to turn off logging for my box, it gets alot of hits and I find that some of the sites have 265mb logs etc and in under a day it jumps to 55mb and the site keeps getting no upload permissions as there always out of space, so I'd like to just turn off logging for the raq, i thought it would be in the httpd.conf but I couldn't see it?

I wouldn't recommend doing this. The reason is you won't be able to generate any stats based on your log files and you won't have any way to track down why certain scripts or pages aren't loading. However if you would so wish to stop your logging on your domains, here is the best way.
Go into your directory where your domain logs are kept and do the following:
Delete the first log (remember the name) and then type the following
ln -s /dev/null [logfile name]
This will then redirect all that goes into that file to null. Your log files will be no more.
I'm hoping you don't do this to your logs in /var/log.
