Thread: Cron Tab
04-18-2003, 10:06 PM #1DmXGuest
I can get php to work fine under crontab, but it won't recognise mysql. It can't connect to it, saying mysql_connect is an undefined function! It's been "ticking" me off for a while now, and it's rather urgent!
Can anyone help, please?

MySQL support is supposed to be enabled by default, but it sounds like you compiled without it. Try these commands (or create and look at a phpinfo page to look at). They might help to figure out where the problem is:
1) Make sure MySQL support is enabled:
[root@home]# php -i | grep MySQL
supported databases => MySQL
MySQL Support => enabled
2) Make sure it's looking in the right place for your libs and includes:
[root@home]# php -i | grep MYSQL
MYSQL_MODULE_TYPE => external
MYSQL_SOCKET => /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock
MYSQL_INCLUDE => -I/usr/include/mysql
MYSQL_LIBS => -L/usr/lib/mysql -lmysqlclient
If either doens't look right, you probably have to recompile and explicitly define --with-mysql=/path/to/mysql.
