What happens if you do not have a Page Rank?

It is this social bookmarking site I'm optimizing the design, which gives me a lot of stress. In these efforts, we have not been successful. The question is not clear to me, and I do not know what could be the problem. Strategies of link building and SEO, some others, I enjoyed it too. I was not able to get a good success in this endeavor and am pretty disappointing. I cannot see my PR and I do not like. I involved in building connection is what was proposed. Suggestions?

Getting a higher PageRank is a very slow process and, in the end, not even *that* important for increasing traffic. Rather, you should try and get quality links (non-paid, non-"nofollow") from other websites with a high PR.
