I would like to recommend you Screem 0.16.1, Bluefish 1.0.7, and Quanta Plus 3.5.7 but among these Bluefish is the best. All three are primarily code editors with syntax highlighting, smart indentation, and other features to make writing and editing code easier.

I'm not completely sold on any Linux alternatives for the moment. Several possibilities were mentioned, but I usually just use Dreamweaver on Windows running in VirtualBox to be honest.

I've used a few different editors, but prefer the geany editor. It's small, lightweight and quick. I really like komodo but find it slow and just don't get on with bluefish or quanta. I may check out screem though to see what it offers.

You could install wine and install dreamweaver itself.

I also recommend Bluefish. It was the top and very powerful linux html editor for web designer.
