GoogleChrome a Linux Distribution.
Google Chrome OS will run on both x86 as well as ARM chips and we are working with multiple OEMs to bring a number of netbooks to market next year. The software architecture is simple — Google Chrome running within a new windowing system on top of a Linux kernel. For application developers, the web is the platform. All web-based applications will automatically work and new applications can be written using your favorite web technologies. And of course, these apps will run not only on Google Chrome OS, but on any standards-based browser on Windows, Mac and Linux thereby giving developers the largest user base of any platform.
Pretty cool actually. I seen some fan builds too.. I hope this will be interesting and reinvent some of the current ways we use an OS.

Google is slowly but surely trying to become a monopoly. They are taking over the market. From search, to email, to hosting, browsers, desktop apps, to even operating system software - Google is it.
I <3 Google

The Google desktop approach won't work for everyone but I do think it will be a hit in some areas. Of course what good is a system that is tied 100% to the internet if you aren't in an area of the world that is always online?

Google announced that the latest beta version of Google Chrome for Linux contains several important fixes, though unlike the new beta version of Mac already has support for extensions, and synchronize your bookmarks. Chrome beta for Linux supports both 32 and 64-bit versions of Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora and openSUSE.

Chrome os will be good for people who only do things online. Eventually when all software is web based it will be a lot more useful.
