We use tape back ups at work but at home I have a raid set up.

If you want to get the data of your system then you have to must need to back up of your system. You have to define restore point in your system for Back up.

I take my backup through use Keep burn image and save it Hard Disk. You can take backup with another way and it is Mirroring. For that you need two Hard Disk. This is very nice topic.

I like acronis because you can make bare metal backups of entire drives and compress the backups.
