Possible domain transfer after expiration date

I am wondering if it is possible to transfer a domain to another registrar a few days after the expiration date. The domain is still available for renewal for a few days after expiration date.

I suppose you should renew your domain, then transfer it to another Registrar.

its better to register the domain first then transfer to the another register and for that you should have to concern to the domain provider from whom you have purchased it.
