Would there be any point for me to start a domain registrar? I mean would people actually come or would they stick with GoDaddy and site like that. I don't want to waste my money so I need some opinions here.

No point, unless you do it cheap like what Rackshack is doing now, $5.41/year with a powerful panel will really help you to get clients from GoDaddy.

You can stil start, there are many places charging $20, $30, $34 per year. You still can do it.

Since i am one to not like reselling (sorry i never did) The best chance of making any money on domain selling is to register with icann, grab your own name servers and start it up from scratch offering as little or as much as you want (but it is not easy to register with icann to become a registrar so good luck going this route hehe)
