How good is Glowhost for shoutcast hosting services?

I have noticed that glowhost.com offers shoutcast hosting services - this what I need.
Before to make my final decision and need experts' help to know how it can be for this kind of webhosting services.

Have you ever used their shoutcast hosting services?

Do they offer any discounts now?

Are you looking to do their VPS, or Dedi Server? Just from looking at their site, they are a reseller.

We do in fact have some coupons. You can try 2FREEMONTHS for you guessed it 2 Free months of service. There is a 60 day money back on those plans as well as all the others so why not try it out and see what you think.

Care to elaborate on what you mean by that?

I suppose Dedicated Now / Fortress is not a reseller? You might own the building but you don't own the fiber, you RESELL it. Or maybe you rent the building and just have some racks in there. Either way, DN is a reseller too.

So, I don't get the point.

Isn't every host including the ones that resell for you, and bring you a paycheck, a reseller in some fashion?

    Hello Romas

GlowHost has been hosting since 2002. GlowHost allows all USA legal content, so adult would be included as an allowed option.

Eaaassy trigger, the point is we own our building DC, our staff and servers are is on site, not colocated in another DC such as a datacenter out of Atlanta. Nor was it meant to imply that resellers aren't able to do a good job, however, I think you took it that way. There are certain advantages when working directly with a DC vs a reseller. The DC has staff on site to fix hardware issues etc, while a reseller quite possibly has to submit tickets and wait for responses.

You can call me trigger happy, and I will call you a rookie marketer with no clue about hosting.

You should really stop making assumptions when you are clearly clueless about how we run our company. You have no idea about our relationship with "the other" datacenter which I will name as GNAX/AtlantaNap.

I didn't take it any direction other than the direction you have stated in more than one post on this forum, that resellers are somehow bad. It is clear in your post you meant that resellers were some how inferior, compared to buying a dedicated server directly from a Datacenter, specifically DN.

Right, and that is somehow better when your guys need to open a ticket with cPanel because your admins just don't understand the OS or panel that you offer?

What is the difference a reseller has to report the issue to the datacenter compared to the end-user? Your end-user has to go through the same support channels as your reseller. The wait times are the same. If your DC has the hardware, then it gets put in just as fast if a reseller contacts you or the client decides to directly.

Not to mention, a reseller is generally monitoring the servers at a level beyond that of the end user. In which case, the end-user's hardware is replaced faster than if the client was to submit the ticket directly to the datacenter himself; (when he wakes up at 9 AM to his cell phone ringing) this is compared to the reseller who was working on the problem at 3 AM well before the end-user even knew about a problem.

I'd me mighty pissed off if I was a large managed service provider, or a mom and pop reseller in your datacenter, and saw your post, trying to discount a brand simply because it was a reseller or anyone else besides your brand....what if these companys reside in your datacenter???

I hope that you do your DD in the future before making speculations, and hope that before you discredit a company, that you check your database and make sure they are not one of your clients.

You might have an idea about what brand(s) we run in Atlanta, but you have no clue about what brands in other regions like Clifton, Parsippany, Vegas, California, UK, or anywhere else. You should be careful about how you post. You might just loose some business someday.

Oh, by the way, we have been doing "what we do" (call it as you wish) longer than DN has been in business.

Stick that up your reseller, there, "Trigger."

Do your "Dewey" Diligence next time.

Having or not having own datacenter.... I think that is not what indicates if web hosting company is good or bad...
