There have been many horror stories with paypal, check out www.paypalsucks.com for more information. I haven't really had any real problems with paypal however and quite happily use them for my business needs.
You will find if something is popular people will hate it. Microsoft, webhostingtalk, Mcdonalds People hate monopolys and this is a classic example!
