Claranet Buys Typhon Web Hosting For $5.51 Million

                Claranet a British managed service providers has acquired Typhon a French web hosting provider for $5.51 million. This is the third acquisition from Claranet in 2012 and previous acquisition were Star Technology Services and CGEST a Portuguese hosting service provider. This acquisition solidifies Claranet’s position in the UK. Claranet’s acquisition will create a new opportunity for Typhon’s customers’ employees and partners to manage and maintain company’s European operations. Typhon’s acquisition will expand Claranet’s staffing to over 700 employees, 4, 700 + customers and operations in 6 European markets. This new combined company is expected to have annual revenues of over $200 Million. This acquisition has been supported and partnered with The Royal Bank of Scotland, Abry Partners and Ares Capital Europe.

                Typhon provides web hosting and open source hosting services, such as Drupal. Typhon is headquartered in Paris and runs a US data center in New York. The data center facility is used to provide service backup to European hosting providers.
